たけのこを掘りに

たけのこが旬ですね。
筍ごはん、若竹煮、焼き筍、筍の味噌汁・・・
ホックホクで甘い、京都山城の筍。
初めてここのたけのこを食べた時は、美味しすぎて感動しました。
日曜は筍を掘りに行きました。
雨天中止の予定でずいぶん前から計画していたのですが、心配していたお天気も何とか曇りでもちこたえました。
雨後のタケノコ、という言葉通りにはいかず、どうも冷たい雨の場合は例外のようです。
暖かくなるとにょきにょき出てくるらしい筍も、その日はあまり見つからず。
それでも肌寒い中掘りまくり、小さいのが10本程採れました。
大きく伸びすぎるとアクが出て渋くなってしまう筍も、これくらい小さいものは新鮮だとそのまま生でもかじれるほど。
そのまま炭火で焼いて焼き筍に。
スライスしてオリーブオイルで焼いて、塩コショウ。
子供たちは、掘るのは楽しみましたが、食べるのはイマイチだったようです。
まぁ、子供には勿体ないので、大人が食べつくしましたけど。
あぁ美味しかった。
