ブナの木の底鋲

新しいディティールです。
冬から少しずつ改良を重ねています。
素材はブナです。
木質は硬く耐久性があり、木肌が緻密でささくれにくいことから、積み木やおもちゃに使われている素材です。
ブナの木は日本列島に広く分布している落葉広葉樹で、根を広げて成長するので“森のダム”と言われています。
まっすぐに成長することがほとんどないので木材としての価値は低いとされてきましたが、近年は見直されているようです。
試作中のバッグの足に。
底鋲は、底や角部分が擦れるのを和らげる効果があります。
白ヌメ革との相性も良く、やさしい雰囲気になりました。
この秋から本格的に使っていこうと思います。
